him nominating you means transfer of trust along with responsibilities. if by applying your methods, even ones that differ from those of your manager, you get positive results for the business, you are in the line with the trust that was given to you to substitue for that role.

I face this type of situation2 or3 times where i m working currently, i always do the work with my style and my mentality and my way whether it is ryt r wrong but i do it with my way...and i never broke the trust of my manager and my G.M.
