Job Enlargement The expansion of a job by increasing the number and variety of tasks that an individual performed resulted in jobs with more diversity.

Job enrichment is refer to "Job Satisfaction", which is the perceived reward an employee feels they receive with respect to their position, their role and personal growth potential.
If one is not enriched by their job, it is easy to become bored, disinterested and unproductive.
Job enlargement means adding duties and responsibilities to a current job description.
You may be familiar with the expression used on JD's that note "performs other duties and responsibilities as required".
This is a vehicle used by employers to be able to have a reduced staff shoulder more workload and additional duties during employee cut backs perhaps due to economic downturn.
Faced with this situation, most employees will accept the additional workload but will not necessarily find it enriching, mainly being grateful to still have a job at all.

1) Meaning: job enlargement means giving variety of tasks or duties to be performed by the employees at the same level.
Whereas job enrichment means increasing the content of the job or upgrading the scope or challenges of the job.2) Nature: it involves horizontal expansion of the job while job enrichment involves vertical loading of the job on the job holder.3) Purpose: the aim of job enlargement is to reduce the monotony in performing same kind of work again and again while job enrichment is a motivational technique to give the employee more challenges.4) Requirement of skill: the job enlargement does not require the more skill on the part of job holder while the job enrichment requires more skill due to more challenging job.5) Supervision: the job holder needs more supervision while the job enrichment requires less supervision.

By job enrichment, an employee finds satisfaction in respect to their position and personal growth potential, whereas job enlargement refers to having additional duties and responsibilities in a current job description.
Job enlargement is a vehicle employers use to put additional workload on employees, perhaps in economical downtime.
Due to downsizing, an employee might feel lucky to have a job at all, despite the fact that his duties and responsibilities have increased.
Another approach is that by adding more variety and enlarging the responsibilities will provide the chance of enhancement and more productivity.
Job enrichment involves organizing and planning in order to gain more control over their duties and work as a manager.
The execution of plans and evaluation of results motivates workers and relieves boredom.
Job enlargement and job enrichment are both useful for motivating workers to perform their tasks enthusiastically.
Although job enlargement and enrichment have a relationship with each other, they also possess some distinct features that differentiate them, such as area of expansion, mutual reliance, allocation of duties and responsibilities, motivation and profundity.
