Is one of the Well reputed credit rating agency well known for Corporate sector and Money and Capital markets, especially meant for credit rating for the issue of stocks and securities.

 is an American financial services company. It is a division of McGraw Hill Financial that publishes financial research and analysis on stocks and bonds. S&P is known for its stock market indices such as the U.S.-based S&P500, the Canadian S&P/TSX, and the Australian S&P/ASX200. S&P is considered one of the Big Threecredit-rating agencies, which also include Moody's Investor Service and Fitch Ratings.[2] Its head office is located in New York City

Standard and Poor's as described by VENKITARAMAN KRISHNA MOORTHY VRINDAVAN , is one of the agencies which issue ratings for the listed companies securities and bonds.

Most important recurring report issued by S&P is the index (market-value average) of500 large companies. Where as Dow Jones has a recurring report, named Dow Jone industry average for30 big industrial companies (various industries).

These averages are sometimes used as benchmark for various industries.
