If we talk about commercial Aviation, Airbus A350 is going to be a game changer for the industry in terms of long haul flight operations due to its high fuel efficiency and ultimate technology. A350 is currently being operated by very few airlines, Qatar Airways being launch customer of the model has almost 10 A350s in service right now and they are planning to expand their fleet.
In modern better aircraft design, better fuel economy and use of light weight material lighter the aircraft more is the profit to fly longer distance and better profit. light on every man pockets. its better to think "how efficiently to get there, instead how soon to get there"
One thing is clear, the twin engine aircraft are the only way of the future. Especially with the improved range, reliability and ETOPS.
Leading the way in this area are the B787-9, and the A350. The B777 was the original game changer and the B777X will further improve the 777 Legacy.

There is non now, why??? because all of them all old technology, why??? we need new totally flying design, NASA is working with this one as it is still to late to do so, we need a flying saucers shape with new type or methods or ways to power it to fly, as vertical take off and land, these on the aviation commercial market models are so much drag so the powered jet engines are becoming wide in diameter as well as lower to the ground.

just i shall say, man is a soul of a plane and and engine is plane heart.
According to me the Boeing 787 Dreamliner is one such aircraft tha will revolutionise the indusry. Among other desirables its composite structures and the engines' fuel efficiency make it a desirable plane.
In case of commercial aircrafts, the newer models of Airbus (A) and Boeing (B) with their increased composite aerostructure and more efficient engines are trailblazers in the industry. More so in the case of the dreamliner with their all electric design which does away with the inefficient process of using engine bleed air for running onboard systems. Upcoming models from Mitsubishi, Sukhoi and such smaller players will help to break the duopoly of Airbus-Boeing, but their designs and models are pretty conventional.
In case of smaller and executive jets, an unconventional model would be Hondajet with their over the wing engine placement.
