First we need to monitor the employees potential on the field. Based on the loop holes (if any), we need to do personal counselling in the first place and then tell the employee regarding the training program that your are planning for him/her  with the reasons like

Soft skills in sales, Product understanding training etc.

If the high turnover is because of poor trainings of products / Skills, YES, a continuous assessment of training needs may reduce the turnover..... otherwise NO.
