<p>3 guys went to buy a radio, when they reached the neighbor shop, the boy advised that what they chose costs $30. Each paid $10 and took the radio.</p> <p>When the nieghbor came back he told his son the radio costs only25, take back the $5 and return it. The boy thought "$5 divided by3 cannot be, I'll take $2" and he gave each $1. Calculating each brother payment (10-1) x3=$27, adding the $2 that totals to $29 , where is the remaining dollar?</p>
Dear Hamza Moustafa
Good Question Structuring ? All for Good.
25 + (3*1) +2 = $30 your1$ is missing in between the brackets and +
nice....best wishes
Great answer guys .. then what is the % of each brother share in the radio?
Out of the $5 to be divided by3, $1 each was given to each of2 friends i.e $2. So, he kept $2+ $1 for himself.
The missing dollar is in the word (each $1).. So3 x $1 = $3 + $2 he kept with himself.....
I feel the missing dollar is with the questioning authority :-)
Hi,
There is no missing dollar :D
(30 $ - 2 $ took by the boy) -3*1 =25 $ real cost of the radio
I hope it was clear :)
Total cost of radio =9+9+8 =26
OK9/26 =34.6154%
Other one also9/26 =34.6154%
The boy8/26 =30.7692%
