Now a days Interviewing candidates through video conferencing is a very common tool. there are two main reasons for this -1) If candidate is from out station and is not available to attend the interview in company premises, it helps the interviewers to interact with candidate face to face and judge them properly.2) now a days every company is doing business globally and video conferencing is a very common tool to interact with clients. as in call centers the recruiters take Voice and accent test in same way interviewing through video conferencing the interviewer also tries to judge the physical gesture and adequate of candidate towards the other party.

Hi Muhammad Ismail,
I believe many HR Professionals do not use the video conferencing option to interview distant candidates for the following reasons:
------1. If the position is an entry level position, then most companies and managers prefer to visit the remote location to conduct tests and hire a bulk of candidates for the entry level positions. It's more cost effective and less time consuming.
------2. Video conferencing for a bulk number of candidates can be very expensive and may not result in selection, which increases the time frame of the recruitment process.
------3. Video conferences across nations may be suitable, however most managers prefer to finalize and select candidates over personal interviews.
I hope this helps..

I think when a person sitting physically in front of interview panel comfort level is batter then video ( for both parties) candidate can jugged batter when he is in front of you like body language confidence ect, If you have good video conference Equipment then you can go for interview trough video conference but if equipment is poor or so so it mean you spend whole time in equipment setting so Quality of equipment dose mater.
