Explain the advantages/ disadvantages of a business dividing into functional areas. What do you think this has on role of its employees?

Advantages:   divided into specialized groups and employees will have no difficulties in understanding what is expected of them.

all duties and responsibilities are clearly defined so that there will be no unnecessary replication of work. offers a high level of specialization,minimum amount of mistakes

A disadvantage: system is that departments can become limited to their own position in the company,

functional organization structure is that it can pose a challenge for top management to maintain control as the organization expands. making coordination of activities more difficult,areas can become difficult to manage due to their size.
