Good Day!!!
For weak managers...... its a real threat, that's why they avoid to delegate authorities to their sub-ordinates. While for professionally strong managers.......... its a blessing and it helps them share their load and most of the times they gets more than expected results.
If empowerment is done on the basis of skill and experience together, it may yield good results. At the same time employee morale should be allowed to upset under any circumstances. An additional hierarchical level can be created thus so that responsibilities are shared without disturbing the organisational structure.
Managers who are good in their work are not threatened if they delegate their work to subordinates, in fact delegation of work is the strongest suit of best managers. However, if manager is weak this might turn against him.
Employees to whom power and work is delegated feels better and motivated as this is their chance to shine and show higher management that they are capable.
If empowering is equal responsibility no problem . And it is good .
Empowering employees creates opportunities for learning, accountability, trust and accelerates decision making.
Helpful for the Managers for delegation of power and authority.
In my opinon, mostly its helpful for the organization where they work in and they get their salaries.
Unfortunately, there are managers believed that empowerment employees is a threat to them
FOR LEADERS ITS ALWAYS HELPFUL ========== FOR MANAGERS IT BECOMES DANGEROUS SOMETIMES FOR THEIR OWN SURVIVAL.............. GOOD DAY
Empowering employees will be helpful if they are committed with their work.
Employees who are empowered to make decisions independently, to think creatively and to take ownership of their work on a day-to-day basis can boost productivity and bottom line profits. Empowered employees feel both the freedom and obligation to deliver strong customer service.
Part of building an empowering environment is dependent on the leader’s ability to run interference on behalf of the team. The leader needs to make sure people are safe doing their jobs. To make sure this happens, an ongoing discussion of the needs, opportunities, tasks, obstacles, projects, what is working and what is not working is absolutely critical to the development and maintenance of a safe working environment.
