Thro' Marketing Research. I would like to add that there is slight difference between market research and marketing research. Market research is only limited to specific market. Marketing research deals with wider prospect like scope & research new products, Distribution System, Product Development etc.,
Identification of needs and wants is done through 'Marketing Research' and after that on the basis of 'Segmentation', target market is identified.
