<p>Soft skill training is more of a fun or getting certification than improving employees' performance as desired. Only a small percentage can be prima facie assumed to be beneficial in practical aspect. What other alternatives can the firms used to reduce cost and bettering the result?</p>

Motivation is the best way to upgrade and enhance employees performance (effective incentive system) you need to set number of aspects that can be measured and determined same as quantity and quality of work done - ethics - overall appearance - safety - attendance etc .... and this aspects has to be measured monthly /each quarter and upon each and every employee performance bonuses will be considered.
