Somewhat I agreed. Dress code is not necessary for all offices, but it may be included for support level.

How your staff appears is a direct reflection on your company. There should always be a dress code, at least a vague one. Uniforms are not always necessary, but you do not want someone in offensive or tattered clothing either.

We have to follow company policy. Skills and dress is different things, we can not make comparision.

Certainly yes! wither we are in showbiz industry or pharmaceutical industry. sometime we have mandatory dress code in production, plant and in office surrounding we do have dress code policy. We are not in school so that we don't have uniform but yes we do have some broader codes for the dressing and we should follow them.

There is nothing wrong in having a formal dress code in every office, but it has got nothing to do with your skills set. The formal dress code would give a professional look to the  entire team in the office.

Yes The elegance in appearance and a confident demeanor is very much needed to convey a positive Image. The clothes you wear affect all your attitude and confidence levels. When people take the time to dress for success, they tend to feel good about themselves. Image alone will not win the job offer, but it will go a long way in building respect.

There are no absolute rules regarding dress. Your selection will vary based on your occupation, location, and preference. A business suit for a construction job or overalls for an office job would not be appropriate dress! The goal is to look the part, and your appearance should be consistent with your occupation. Neat, clean work clothes would be suitable for assembly, production, or warehouse positions. Sales and office positions require business clothes. A conservative suit would be the recommended style for professional and managerial positions.

Common sense and good taste are the best guides in selecting clothing for the interview. Avoid faddish styles and loud colors. Jewelry should be conservative and kept to a minimum. Clothing should fit comfortably. You want the employer to focus on your skills, not on your clothes.

Grooming: Personal grooming is just as important as what you wear. You may select the right clothes, but neglecting personal hygiene can ruin the image you wish to present. Dressing appropriately and conveying your thoughts through apt mannerisms and body language is part of the effort in projecting an all round personality. Remember your body language, It is not what you say, but how you say it. When you are  interacting with someone like when attending an interview , do not fold your arms and lean back or look to the floor! Sit upright and try to maintain good eye contact. Use your hands and lean forward when making a point. Many people cannot think and control their body language at the same time, which is why you need to prepare. Work on your body language and looks before facing an interview. Always maintain eye contact with the recruiter you are talking with. Make proper use of your eyes as eyes are the most powerful parts of human body. Many recruiters as well as the executives may take notice of body language of their potential employees and this will also include the posture, mannerisms as well as the eye contact. Try to maintain an eye contact with your recruiter during the interview. This can display the honesty and friendliness.

Messages are sent through clothing wherever you go. Whether you are out with friends for the evening, working out at the gym, or just plain working at the office, what you wear makes a statement about who you are. Your employer's interpretation of what your wardrobe has to say can have serious implications on your career -- both positive and negative. In fact, according to a recent study released by OfficeTeam, a staffing agency that polled senior corporate executives, 93% of managers say that how you dress at work influences your chance of a promotion.
