if the battle is an analogy for the workplace, I would place the risk averse person in Finance / Accounting and the risk taker in Sales / Business Development.

Employees with Brave/Risk Taking personalities would add value by leading in Business Development/ Strategy/ Sales and Operations Management.
Employees with Risk Averse/Stability seeking personalities would add value by following policies and procedures in administrative or support funtion roles.

In any organisation there will be those with a higher appetite for uncertainty and uncharted territory than others.
The risk-takers are usually the entrepreneurs, trailblazers in their domain whether it is at the managerial or creative or other front, while risk-averse professionals usually prefer to follow tried and tested rules and processes and procedures and work in a more rigid and regimental environment.
The former may prefer a start-up or other fast-paced entrepreneurial environment where everything seems possible and where their creativity and willingness to innovate and try and explore can be relatively unhampered, while more risk-averse personalities may prefer to work in larger organisations and in more established teams with clearer mandates, roles and reporting structures.
Both can prosper and thrive and excel in their own preferred domain and comfort zone and at the end of the day organisational diversity makes an organisation richer and more varied and interesting and dynamic providing different traits are recognized and addressed and accommodated.

In an organization, we need brave leaders to build a strong foundation of management while we also need the coward or weak employees to assist while we can motivate them to be strong and become leaders upon developing confidence and strength.

I will send first the coward before the the brave one.
First, if we are talking about our corporate set-up and we are at risk, it is better to be secured first.
The coward (our action) shall be our lookout for bigger things to happen.
Our competitors might think that its all we have but with this action, we can measure our risk by calculating our actions of the battles ahead.
Then, once we sum up what is at stake in the business, that's the time we can make bold actions to stabilize our hold in the industry.
Thus, it is within our actions that can spell our success in business.

The brave one of course.
We want to get the work done right? What will we accomplish if we send the coward? Nothing.
The same is true for an enterprise.
You want to send those employees to the front who will get the work done.
Those who are lazy or cowards will be laid off because they are just unnecessary baggage that will only make you lag behind.
