When is the right time to move into a next career/job challenge?

A long time ago, a job was for life and if you stayed in a job for many years, employers regarded you as dependable and dedicated to a company. Now every few years appears to be quite acceptable. Are you seen as flexible and willing to learn or a risk taker and unreliable or both?

i agree with the point that a good job can be for a lifetime, but there are many reasons that require a job/career change. I have been with my company for13 years, but there comes a time when you need to move on.

I agree with you about changing job/ career. Sometimes we had to stay in one particular job as we feel comfortable. Thus, we had lack of motivation and feel staying in a comfort zone. Changing for better prospect and high demands on skills will benefit us. I changed from an educator to a administrator and now I am so satisfied with my post.

Hi!

When you are not growing anymore; when you feel very lazy getting out of bed; when you think boredom is creeping cause everything is very routinous; when the coffee doesn't seem to get added flavors and the coffee maker gets changed time to time while your position is still the same for the last 3 years or so..; when the pay increase seem to become a fiction, and the current salary does not cover your growing basic needs; when your managers tend to overlook your expertise and work ethics over their fear you surpass them all the way----then it is time... SURPASS THEM.

Find the next place where you know you will grow skillfully, and that you will find your real value in all professional aspects of who you are.

Cheers!
