My boss used to call me by: Sir...... I could only reciprocate him in the same way and believe that is more apt.

I call him by name, and that eases things between me and him. it helps increasing friendly atmoshpere. What i think is if i start calling him sir/boss will make him..........
Sir....is best...but if u wana praise him then can go for BOSS.......!
