What does it take to succeed in your job and/or career? Is being knowledgeable and Skillful enough to succeed?

These characteristics count but most important is one's attitude.  As mentioned by Adnan Adeel, collaborative approach on both verticals helps one to be more successful.

Being Knowledgeable and skillful does not means for to success but its timely and effectively application.

Collaborative approach with team members and various leadership attributes must be acquired. Try to be mentor to juniors and get learned even from those who reports to you.
