I agree with the SCPCA method!
in order to maximize the sales of a company the management should carefully fit the distribution channels used and according to my understanding the channel members are responsible for the R& D, implementation and creativity. most of the time companies hire advertising agencies and out sourcing distribution channels which means you are putting full responsibility over them which can be a bit of a risk. therefore the agency should be chosen wisely. another wise move would be to have a weekly or daily checklist on the performance which should be consistent! a little push may not be harmful!
in my opinion its better to have the company's own PR & Creative Division . which will be effective, efficient, cost effective as well as less time consuming in the long run and it will be directly under control of the managment
Selection Criteria must be the following:
I agree with all answers given by colleagues.
Sales : How much sales each channel member can give within a cetain time frame
Cost :How much cost would be incurred for each channel?
Profitability:Which channel can give better profitability to the company?
Control : Whether company can have better control over its channel members or not.
Adaptability : Whether the channel alternatives are flexible enough to any changes or not. The channel meeting the objectives of the company is selected.
Thanks Vinod !
I'm not sure if SCPCA is a selection method ? it is rather a tool for channel performance evaluation.
