We are in a ERP System Development and Management using Openbravo ERP. Now are going to implement the localization like ERP System in Arabic, Chinese etc. What will be the effect to the end user of ERP System?
The end user will be able to use the ERP in his own language (if supported).
I feel Adding languages is not going to help u make In roads. Most comanies here have english as their primary languages. Adding Multi Currency and how u can merge the final Balance sheet to show a unified picture will have a stronger Impact.
I think I can explain this question as we recently had chinese Implementation. By default ERP like SAP has standard translation if you have language installation. so the end user will simply have to use logon language while logging into the system.
So there is a positive impact with almost no money and efforts and especially the users from Production and Warehouse has most impact due to limited english skills.
now coming to the complex part of it which are enhancements or custom specific codes which are implemented in system, these needed more time and money.
further if you have integration with other system then you need to ensure the interface also comatible for languages. or if you are working with multiple application then its also imporatnt to translate all the applications for the users.
now regarding support the local language like chinese etc could be an issue if you have global support, in this case you have no option but to bring a strong key users who should write support tikcet only in english.

The language will be different. Other factors such as Multicurrency, tax, user preferences, business processes, etc need to be considered.
