PDCA is basically a simple step in problem solving for small-scale issues.  Each category is broadly defined as compared to the DMAIC process where the plan part is categorized into subcategories to be able to pinpoint issues and root causes to be able to come up with a better solution.

PLAN - DO - CHECK - ACT  vs DEFINE - MEASURE - ANALYZE - IMPROVE -CONTROL

The Plan phase in PDCA cycle includes the "Plan" cycle in PDCA and includes the DMA phases. In other words, we have to Clarify the Problem (Define), Break down problem and set target (Measure), Analyze the root cause, define corrective actions.

"DO" phase is equivalent to the "Improve" phase - Implement counter measures

"Check & Act" is synonymous with the "Control" phase of Evaluate and Standardize
