Speaking from a personal corner of experience, I can say that teaching a language requires an environment for that language, real, or otherwise imaginary, if you are teaching a second language in a country speaking a different language. That said, I believe the core issue is the environment, and if provided, there will be no big difference in the outputs whether a traditional or a modern method is used. Anyhow, I can not deny that the modern technologies provide a big help in teaching a language or other different sciences.
The purpose is the same as the main objective of learning English is "learning new vocabulary and new language study including grammar rules. To be honest and based on my point of view the old way was concrete and rigid because students depended too much on the teacher and the text books and very limited activities. The modern way depends too much on the high technology such as the smart boards, video and audio rooms, listening to different tongues besides mother tongues, the wide range of language usage throughout the Internet, sticking to different courses shown for free on the Internet. We can conclude that the new ways make the process of learning very easy, productive and acceptable but the old way was a heavy load on both teachers and students. Facilities used nowadays made learning English a fun.
Teaching what so ever it is not the problem , a lot of poeple learn from the street , but the idea about the person is he ready to learn or not .?
Based on ,my experience spanning over24 years both local and abroad I can vouch to the fact that teaching English is a matter of a50 hours of evenly spaced out lesson but well planned. I get
the learners , kids or adults, talking within this span of time.. Well they speak grammatical English, I guarantee., Then i introduce Literature to bring in the refinement , the polishing
SO it is not a case of what specific """way""we use . Grammar is the same regardless of what
way we use in the classroom.,
it is just the way using american style instead of british.... firstly the blackboards are been used but now a days multi media has taken.......
