I good Manager will know the goods and bads of his each team member and being a coach and mentor he will adopt individual approach and coaching tactics to bring best of his/her team member by appreciating their good things and changing their negatives into positives by giving them a task which will test his/her competence in an area where he/she lacks.
This is possible by coordinating with HR Department, who is in-charge of pre-screening, hiring and personnel evaluation. By knowing the individual strengths and pyschological demographics of each employee, Managers/Administrators could possibly come up with best plans to motivate their subordinates. Superior should know what best inspire their employees either by positive, negative, financial or non-financial motivation. Hence, i would suggest as well an internal evaluation to be rendered quarterly, and internal meetings.
A manager should work into a Team as a good team player..He should analyse the good and bad things in his/her employees by working with them. He should always give positive vibration to the colleagues.
Should have experience to make correct decision in correct time at correct circumstances.
Should do market research and self research for good outcomes.
Must gain trust of peers and owners of the company.
Active, dynamic, good communication and smart working style.
# A manager is also the team leader. He himself must show good example (good behaviour, work ethics, self disciplne, maturity, wisdom, etc) before expecting others to follow.
# We can show who is the boss but not so bossy; only know how to give instructions but never get involve or giving a helping hand. Be a team plyares too.
# A manager is like a conductor leading an orchestra. He knows the weaknesses and strengths of each of his subordinates but preferred to capitalized their strengths for the betterment of the team or organization.
# A good listener; willing to listen and accept good ideas from the subordinates.
# Gives recognition where is due or based on merit. Do not claims credit on ideas or action which does not come from the manager.
# Strong principle and not a flip-flop in decision making especially in disciplinary matters.
# Be compasionate and empathy with subordinates.
# Provide clear and precise directive and be a good communicator.
# Provide all the necessary working tools, chain of commands, working environment and rewards to create happiness at work place in order to induce good cooperation, boosting working moral and work performance.
# Take responaibility and not on blaming game whenever things fail.
# Show strong leadership and do not run away and leaving subordinates to face the issues alone without support.
