With our busy schedules it might be difficult to find time to think about who we are, our strengths and weaknesses, our drives and personalities, our habits and values. Besides, many of us just aren't inclined to spend much time on self-reflection. Even when personal feedback is presented to us, we're not always open to it, because honest feedback isn't always flattering. Consequently, many of us have a pretty low level of self-awareness. That's unfortunate, because self-awareness is an essential first step toward maximizing management skills. Self-awareness can improve our judgment and help us identify opportunities for professional development and personal growth.
I agree with you on the so-called "6 Dimensions of Psychological Well-Being". If you recognize all of these in you, that means that you are well-balanced and have a very strong base which is very essential for development.
The concept of well-being implies more than the mere absence of negatives in one’s life. It is intended to imply
a positive, well-lived, thriving life. The Center for Disease Control notes well-being to include the following:

I would say for career development I think it pays to have an open mind - and to have an open mind one must take care of his or her mental health. This is vital - you are less likely to be offered, and much less likely to accept, what it is you really want if you're not healthy. We live in an age where a lack of good mental health is apparent, and there's as much pressure as ever on individuals. Everyone must seek to stay healthy and not be afraid to ask for help.
