Organizations today hire different nationalities. What would a manager/ HR manager need to do to make employment experiences - positive & productive?

Only if the Employment Experience is Positive and Productive, can different Nationalities work conducively. Please provide examples of how this can be achieved, from your experience.

Cross cultural differences is not problem in the employemnt relationship, the problem is only management problem. Different nationalieties increase the competition in the workplace and consequestly increase efficiency and innovation; yet it is important when selecting different nationality to keep in mind the organisational objectives.

If I am looking for innovative but team work base structure then I will need to have diversified nationalities and all of collectivistic culture which prefer team performance strategies. Yet if I am looking a team that will perform interdependent tasks; I don't prefere to by multinational and if it is a must, it must be all collectivistic.

It all relies on the objective of the employemnt and how you will manage the workplace.

I appreciate Shobha's and Roland's comments....
If Organization have been hiring people of different nationalities then this act shows that they are optimistic and believe in equality and they will treat all expat employees in the same manger they have been treating their local employees….But being Manager HR and line manager one should do the following to check if expat employees have been treating fairly: • Casual meeting • Walk around and ask them to share their views • Take feedback from other employees • Judge their performance and on the basis of their performance analyze their attitude/behavior towards organization

If you ask me there are four simple steps to more or less ensure that all employees regardless of their nationalities are treated fairly and remain content and productive.
- I would say that this starts off with having a standard salary matrix and grading system in the company, which ensures fair compensation and benefits for all positions within the organization.
- Next would be timely recognition.
It is important to ensure that good performance is regularly recognized and rewarded and this can be achieved by a customized recognition policy for the company.
- Next is creating a clear career path for all employees which should ideally be discussed with every employee when they join the organization.
Employees should understand the horizontal or vertical or even lateral moves they can make within the organization.
Personally speaking, I think lateral moves are great! It is equally important to provide opportunities for training and development (personal and professional development).
- Last but definitely not the least is creating an office environment that is fun, motivating and inspiring.
There are so many ways to do this; encourage team activities, initiate wellness programs, have a fun bulletin board, etc.

First i Have to always make stuff meeting every2 weeks , i order to be one in the team and not outside , then after we all known each other and exchange our differents opinoin , then you can make it on monthly basis , then on quartley basis , Also MUST i make internal plociy to clarify the company policy in details and write in the LOGO file name ( Busniess have no feelings AND no relegions as well ) in order to let every one know that the company evaluate the employe according to the work finished and not to body color or shape or relegions or any country , according to the conept we all now ( Rewarded AND Punishment ).

I don't agree at all.
Nationality has nothing to do with "Positive Experience and Productive".
If you can communicate with the same language, you're already achieving part of the job, whether you're chinese or mongolian.
It's just a matter of hiring the right people, with the right knowledge and the right attitude.
Organizations need to focus more on the inside of a person rather than on the outside.

Hai Amal,  A great question indeed!  The world is fast becomig GLOBAL VILLAGE!  MNCs are flourishing.
More and more job opportunites are spurting all ove the world.
We have to understand one thing, very clearly, here!  Human beings are a-BUNDLE-of-EMOTIONS!!!  Every nation, and, within nation, even the REGIONS have their own beliefs, faith, sect, religion, languages, culture, food, dressing, attitudes, etc  When an HR is assigned with the TASK of bringing all these people on a COMMON PLATFORM, the HR must be very careful.
He has to arrange for mutual-understanding, cooperation, coordination, mutual-respect, etc of every culture that is involved.
This is called CULTURAL SENSITIVITY PROGRAM!!!  Only when such positive amalgamation is facilitated, then, functioning of the organization will be smooth, and, definitely positive results occurs at all level!  The HR role and responsibility is to facilitate such TRANSITION very PROFESSIONALLY!

Mulitinational means multi cuttural organization. In multi national organizations there are two parts of cultural:

1. Organization's cultural; this encompass organization's management and reporting style. In some multinational organization have their own way of management system and reporting style.

2. Different nationalities people's life style and knowledge. It contribute lot in the organization because different nationalities people with same level of education bring different way and type of knowledge and style. So employee sees everything from various angels that contribute lot in acheiveing organization's goals and objectives.

I don't want to sound prejoudace which I am not, but Saudies seem to be a minority in the privet sector, regardless to the labore department.

As a multi national companies ex employees, no culture of any country should be applied in the work enviroment but the policies and proceedures of the company itself

the diffrence between the cultures is not a problem ... every HR managment or any managment want to have the best positivity and productivity teams should put the maslow's hierarchy infront of here eyes and implement the reward system (financial - non financial) .. and with this way the will have the employees satisfaction and competition between each other.
