As an employee, you are protected from violations of your dignity through the Work Environment Act, the Discrimination Act and wants you to report difficult situations so that violations of dignity can be prevented in the future.  an employer will treat all reports of such situations with care.

You can choose to solve the problem on your own by confronting the counterpart, although you are not required to do so. Freedom of choice is important in solving conflicts. It is up to you to report the problem, and at which level of the organisation you wish to report it.

It is important to be aware of the consequences of your choices. You will have to explain your standpoint during the evaluation of the case, and anyone involved in the case will become aware of it during the evaluation process. If you are unsure, or know that you do not wish formally report the problem, you can contact your union representative, Occupational Health Services or Labour Inspection to discuss the case informally and confidentially.

If you choose to speak with a leader, colleague, safety representative, or advisor, be aware that these people are required to warn their employee if they suspect that you are subject to criminal offences. If you choose to do nothing, be aware that revenge, badmouthing, verbal abuse and similar confrontations that may violate the offender’s dignity are not allowed.
