4- Design and select suitable steel sections or make built up section, and design connections and splices if you have.
5-Check deflections and stresses and lateral buckling for steel members.
6- Prepare design drawings and details for connections.
first , you have to decide for the statical system to be used , followed by load calculations then the structral analysis which will be based on assumed preliminary sections. after several iterations the sections choice can be refined to have more economic design.
