I believe selling is sale of a commodity and/or property for money but making a sale is to not just sell but to connect with your client. One should understand the needs of the client before suggesting a product. I believe there should be understanding and trust between the two parties before closing the sale. When the client trusts and agrees with you, he can even be a referral which is positive for you and your organisation.
