In the disassembling assembling of gas turbine for major inspection, what are the alignment measurement that should be taking?

alignment measurement should be taking: * turbine rotor to load gear.
*turbine rotor to  acc  gear.
*turbine rotor to turbine casing body.

The alignment measurements that need to be taken for gas turbine disassembly/assembly include;

- Load coupling shaft to coupling sleeve

 

- Accessory coupling shaft to coupling sleeve

 

- Turbine rotor to casing

is there other activities will be carried with the M?

 

for example some time owner will replace the gearbox or the starting motor, so in this case you need extra alignment to be checked. Other time there will be load gearbox then the load. so if doing maintenance in the load, you might need alignment for them also

 

in General in case only the turbine have maintenance which very rally the answer as MR.  Mohamed Sharkawy said. alignment between the load and turbine and between Aux gearbox and turbine.

Workstation for Engine Overhaul Shop
1- Shipping and Receiving   This is the administration and functional section for receiving and shipping power plants, engines, modules and components of the power plant/engine.
Within the shipping and receiving areas the possibility for storage of engines, modules and related items should be given.
Generally there is an engine wash area adjacent to the receiving and shipping area that is under their jurisdiction.
  Shipping and Receiving Tasks:   - Receive and ship power plants, engines, modules, accessories and nacelle items.
- Inspect engines and engine records to establish the required maintenance actions.
- Depressive and preserve engines.
- Clean engine and equipment externally as required.
 
2- Warehousing   The warehouse is the area which stocks the spare parts and supplies required for maintenance and repair of:   - Power plants - Engines - Engine assemblies - Parts - Equipment   Additionally, the warehouse stores the equipment and materials required to maintain the buildings and machines.
The warehouse can be located in the engine maintenance shop or in a separate building.
It should be capable of and would require supporting a large maintenance/repair work loading.
 
3- Marshalling and In-Shop Transportation   Marshalling has administrational and functional responsibility for handling of engine modules, components, parts, accessories, etc.
within the various departments of the workshop (e.g.
assy / disassy, cleaning, inspection, repair, testing) including the warehouse.
It also receives parts from these departments and stages them for further use in the workshop.
  In-shop transportation requirements consist of the transfer of engines from the engine assembly area to the pre- and de-rig area and in-shop transfer of engine items between work stations.
Transporting the engines is accomplished using engine trailers.
The moving of modules and parts is accomplished by using special transport stands and parts racks.
Aisles should be planned so as to provide a smooth flow of traffic and good access to the different work station  
4- Shop Floor Stores   The supply stores section is responsible for:   - The gauge and tool crib.
- The engine spare parts stock.
- The receiving and control of consumables.
- Expendable materials required for engine maintenance.
  The shop floor stores area should include a closed off section for a gauge and tool crib.
Storage is provided for spare parts and materials required for the maintenance of support equipment (engine tools).
Storage is also provided for the general supplies required for the operation of the facility.
 
5- Nacelle Disassembly / Assembly   Nacelle Disassembly These items are partially disassembled or completely disassembled as required, whilst supported in the specially designed stands provided.
Accessories removed at this stage should be routed to the accessory rework area.
  Nacelle Assembly The nacelle items are assembled while supported in specially designed stands provided in the area.
 
6- Disassembly / Assembly   Facility requirements, , Facilities are provided appropriate for all planned work, ensuring in particular, protection from the weather elements.
Specialized workshops and bays are segregated no complete as appropriate; to ensure that environmental and work area contamination is unlikely to occur Equipment, tools and material, The organization have available and use the necessary equipment, tools and material to perform the approved scope of work have complete approved technical data at the location                                                                i.

Gas Metallic Arc Welding (GMAW) is a type of fusion welding in which the electrode is consumed, becoming filler material.
