How is Civil3D used?

Civil3D is used by civil engineers and other professionals to create digital models of infrastructure projects early in the design process. For example, the Department of Transportation for a small county may use Civil3D to create a detailed digital model that lays out and details how they plan to reduce roadway congestion and accidents by widening roads and adding traffic signals. In the case of an internationally recognized consulting firm, Civil3D may be used to develop a proposal for the design and construction of a new airport that communicates their plan clearly to various stakeholders using intelligent3D models, multiple layouts, view frames, plan and profile views, real-time information, and even3D models published directly from Civil3D into Google Earth. Ultimately, Civil3D is used to explore, design, analyze, and optimize civil engineering projects. This, in turn, helps to improve infrastructure designs and build projects safely, on time, and on budget
