In bent up steel at slant portion you will find some problem so at that first calculate the upper and lower point i.e(Height) of that part and then horizontal distance of bent up portion, then just use Pythagoras theorem calculate slant portion.
And every bent which is less than90 degree you have to deduct1dia of bar and if greater than90 degree then deduct2dia of bar as a elongation from the total length of bar.

First measure the straight lenths (2 x upper straight lengths=X )+ (1 x lower straght lenfth=Y) = Total straight length= l

than measure the actual length of the portion ( Beam / Slab )= L

Deduct total length of Straight portion from the Actual lenght you will get Horizontal lenght of the Triangle formed by Bentup. ( A )= L - l

Measure the vertical height of the Portion , it will the vertical height of the Triangle ( B )

Thus the Bent up Portion ( C ) = square root of ( A square + B square )

Thus Total Legth of bentup Bar = X+Y+C

Calculate by using following formulae for bent up bars having two hooks at both side

Total length of bar = total length of slab –2 side covers +2x9x Dia of bar (for hooks) + add one depth of slab excluding covers

The Easy way of doing that is to consider the BU steel Section as3 Steel Plates ( in case of Single Web Section ) or4 Steel Plates ( in case of  Double Web Section ) the calculate the weight of Each Plate .. The Weigth of One Plate = Length (m) x Width (m) * Thickness (m) * Density of Steel7850 m3/kg = Weight (Kg)
