Ethical decision-making takes into account all interested parties, called Stakeholders, in relation to company's activities. In general, company's main objective is considered to be increasing the Shareholder Value. This, can in many cases cause harm to other parties, for instance, employees or community in general. At the same time, ethical decision making can cause "extra" expenses (at least short-term) for the company but be positive for3-rd party non-shareholders. For example, paper producing company can do selective forest cut, and at the same time plant new trees to replace cut trees. Also, it can clean-up all the waste it produced during its processes. All this can have real costs for the company but will serve better to the community and environment.
