'Quality' is that approach to work that ensures -
appropriate action at the right time and place, using the optimal resources, yeilding the desired result consistently.
I always enjoy a good discussion on what quality means, as we all know there is no one right answer. However, the premise of the query is false. Why? Because the right resources are not always available, but alternate steps can be taken to protect the customer from risk. Recently, a Boeing built jumbo airliner had a fire in one of their on-board batteries. The chief engineer d not find the root cause, and rather created a protective device protect the customers from any risk, should it occur again. As we all know without a good root cause, you have no idea what resources one needs.
Secondly, Doing it right the first time is the desired state of quality, but providing what the customer wants, without risks is the epitome of quality. Repairs require a quality approach as well.
Yes Meher, I do agree with your statement, but it is not as much easy as it is written in one line.
This only can be achieved if the organization or the Top Management is committed with the Implementation of TOTAL QUALITY MANAGEMENT in the organisation, or more simply when Quality becomes the Every Bodies Responsibility.

Quality is doing the right things on the right time.
Right things include resources, materials, drawings, documents, and all related issues.
On the right time means to do everything when it is required to do; not later. If you do it correctly but late, its value will be less because you will affect other activities causing a work with less quality or more time.

Quality means meeting the customer's requirements. Anyone producing work output is a supplier; anyone receiving work input is a customer. Use of the term "customer" is significant because the word implies a valued relationship that helps establish the proper attitude toward the recipients of a person's work. Customer and supplier are not positional terms; they are solely related to a given work transaction and are irrespective of organizational rank and structure
Quality is all about doing the right things right..........Yes I agree.............with the right resources at the first right time.........it is not like as its mention it can be said Making and Ensuring the right resources at the first time .....................then always do.
