from experience i will say it simply and with few words only! Know the product, like it, accept and well present it.
Never bush for a sell! only push for a payment once the client says i want it.

1- Ask the first important question, How I can make the customers feel that they urgently need this product?
2- How I can reach my target consumers? And where I can find them?
3- Is my product is useful and clear to be understand?
4- Do a very good market research to know the trends.

5- Create a very powerful marketing campaign.

6- Provide a very good customer service and support.

7- Don't make your customers feel that they are stuck with your product.

I Believe that the most important thing is to know the customer need & to be selling a need but not a product because u always need something & u need to use the customer needs in order to make him more interested & put yourself in the customers shoe so there are some steps which u will need to follow
1- know your product very well
2- use your product to figure out what do the customer need
3- do your best to be as if you're trying to help him not to give him something which is not gonna add a benefit to him
4- have self confident that the product you are selling is the best so you won't need to push him or beg him so that you only trying to help with an advice
5- If the customer is shouting or having attitude just do as he do but in a good way so that u will be the one who is controlling
6- if you are trying to gather his info over the phone act as if you already have it & u are only confirming
7- be straight to the point & don't over sell
