Don't ever rely on that. Make your qualities, capabilities, skills, motivation, ambitions and work results be your ticket to promotion.
Good question Marwa :)..if you got promotion on the basis of good relation with your boss and also your work is not good then its not a promotion in reality for good employees..the success and promotion is always based on hard working..There is a thing in this world that named as SATISFACTION it is very rare and it can not be attained by this type of promotion....you can only enjoy it when you work hard and struggle for it Thanks.Good luck
You may get promotion but remember you are not competent at present level and after promotion you are further down on competency.
IF you are working in a proffessional environment so this rarely happen. How ever u can find these cases in the less professionalism environment. the matter is about how you satisfy your self when you got a promotion not equivalent to your skills while it should be entitled for someone who performing better than you?!!!
I do not think so, if the boss is good.
If Boss Is Fair And Good I think That is not required in this case
otherwise yes that is help
What I have noticed in the Middle East is that if a manager trusts an employee who is just an average person with little skills then that person will get promoted fast based on that trust. It is not fair to the employees that are doing top notch work, but it is usually who you know that determines where you go. Not my ideal place of employment...
Dont focus on others-they do well or badly-ignore it. It is their problem. Alsoyour company has a boss and he is the one who can evaluate it. This part you can not change.
Please focus on your development, inhance your skills, ask yourself-what else I can do to grow as a proffesional? This is important. Give maximum outcome. Gain expirience.
Many years ago I saw an small organisation where best positions were distributed between friends and relatives of director Inspite of their professionalism of course. it was a pity.
But business must operate and needs at least1proffesional to operate it. You boss knows that-so develop yourself and you will become that one. Whatever good relatioship is, it gives only chance to be promoted in such organisation culture, but it will not insure they will sustain their position.
Please do not address such tool, although ,of course, you must show respect to your boss.
Instead of it build reliable proffesional image and do your best -your boss is not blind-he will promote you -or if not -others will be glad to employ such a proffessional person. so anyhow you will benefit if you focus on development
Exactly not but it keeps always good working environment within the department.
Yeees sadly relationships can make it easly to reach to what you want even if you don't deserve it . But frankly not in all the companies but in most of them
good relationship with your boss can help, however, if the boss see your job as bad, then you are in trouble, most of the time you will have a good relationship with the boss if your work is good.
