Would having degrees and certificates in English increase your chances in having an English teacher career?

In my country yes, regardless the fact that I believe that certificates and degrees should not be determining what a person really has.

Absolutely! 

To have a dgree or certificate it helps to be in better position at work with good income.
yet to be an English teacher it is how you can deliver the massege to the students and stell down in thier brains.
A doctors how teaches any kinds of subjects but have no ability to let anybody understands is not a teacher yes, it helps a lot to have an English teacher career if ther is a degree or a certificate..
