The most important of marketing skills could be as the following :

*   Skill of persuasion

* How to recognize about  the strengths and weaknesses of ur product and ur competitor 

* how to develop ur product in line with the tastes of consumers and their purchasing power

* of course u have to offer some thing called competitive advantage this is very necessary 

Listening is the only skill you can try to learn within the time time frame mentioned. you cant learn you can only try to learn.

Convince yourself, Convince the Market, Convince the customers and Earn through Justifiable means.

Understanding yourself,your market,your product and your customer If we are able to understand the customer and his/her needs and precisely design a solution and satisfy his/her needs that is we have done it.
