We all know that there are *tons* of health apps out there. Seemingly a new one everyday. Apple's AppStore has ~7,100 health related apps, Droid has ~1,300, and even Blackberry has ~300 as of Nov 2010 according to the report from mobihealthnews (and given the historical growth of health apps, these numbers surely have increased).
I think there is very little a health app can do, if not coupled with an external sensor. I have used and still use various smartwatches with a heartbeat monitor, a connected scale and a connected blood pressure meter. They are all good, but honestly none of them have managed to induce myself to take care of my behaviour (which is bad). Actually, recently, a doctor has, by scaring me. And I am not joking: probably Apps should become predictive and be able to tell us where we heading if we don't change.
