What is the rolling wave planning?

There are2 ways of planning

1) Waterfall and2) Rolling wave.

In waterfall method - You have the complete project plan well defined at the start.

where as in Rolling wave- On major activity are planned at the initial stage. later as the project progress , the detail plan is unfolded.
