A professional accountant or manager is bound by five main ethical principles. They

1. Integrity-Straight forward & honest in all business relationships.

2. Objectivity- not allow bias, conflict of interest or undue influence to override independence judgments

3. Professional Competence & due care- act diligently in accordance with applicable technical standards

4. Confidentiality- respect the confidentiality of information

5. Professional Behavior- comply with relevant laws and avoid any action that discredit the profession.

An ethical decision that is essentially a difficult decision to make because of your honor system coming into conflict with something else, oftentimes another person's varying honor system. It's usually "ethical" because the honorable decision is often paired with socially negative consequences.
