FACT: Nuclear Energy is rapidly expanding on a global scale
MYTH: nuclear reactors can explode like bombs It is not possible for a nuclear energy plant to explode like a bomb. The enrichment level of the uranium is too low. These plants are designed to produce electricity safely and reliably.
Nuclear energy plants are among the safest and most secure industrial facilities in the world. Robust safety systems - where multiple layers of physical and electronic security support each other – severely limit access to the reactor core.
An explosion from outside the plant – from a plane crash, for example – would likely not penetrate the reactor core and cannot cause the nuclear fuel to explode.
FACT: Nuclear power plants produce little waste Compared to other power industries nuclear energy is very clean. A typical commercial reactor produces about400 cubic metres of waste a year. A similar sized coal plant produces400-thousand cubic meters of ash a year, and seven million tonnes of dangerous exhaust gases.

One uranium pellet produces the same amount of energy as474 litres of oil or one ton of coal. That’s enough electricity to power one household for up to four months without producing any carbon emission.
MYTH: It’s not safe to live near or work in a nuclear power plant Reactors are designed and built to contain radiation. They are a safe workplace for hundreds of staff.

I dont know much about Nuclear enegry so cant actually comment on it, however when ever i hear about Nuclear Energy or Nuclear power I get attentive and my thoughts run saying it is harmfull....i guess this will be the first reaction of every individual whn they hear abt NUCLEAR ENERGY
the energy that comes free by splitting or fusing atoms. You need relatively not much material for a lot of energy. The waste is the problem, BUT also needed for hospital for radiation treatment, this is the part everybody who s against loves to forget.
The energy is clean, the waste isn't , for decades that is a problem and can also be used for warfare. But I think it has a future! wind and solar energy is subsidized, so people aren't triggered to do all in there effort to improve, that is now getting better with solar energy, but I think nuclear energy has the future
No there is no good future for nuclear energy due to radioactive waste produced.
nuclear energy is atoms contains positive and negative charges in them and the charges differe between the negative and positive poles of the atome make it different and dependant on materials its extracted from and their purity . Thus pure nuclear energy almost never exist in nature .
The nuclear energy is nuclear war, the future of nuclear energy since there is currently an embargo on nuclear research and development be it for energy or war
In my opinion nuclear power is not the way to go ... it is better than burning coal or other fossil fuels, however it is a danger for man kind ... as earth quakes damage the facilities (like in Japan) and give out radioactivity into the ocean making killing our food sources ..

Most European countries have gone over to solar, wind power .. hydro power ... which are still better alternatives not damaging the environment...
Than there are the countries which want to make bombs to destroy the world with nuclear weapons ...
It had been proven how dangerous these weapons are when Hiroshima and Nagasaki where hit with Little Man and Fat Man.... the US and Russia have agreed no longer to make these weapons ....nor should any other nation in this world be allowed to do so .....

There are basically two types of nuclear energy.
Nuclear (Fission) power:

Nuclear (Fusion) power:
The fusion of two nuclei with lower masses than iron (which, along with nickel, has the largest binding energy per nucleon) generally releases energy, while the fusion of nuclei heavier than iron absorbs energy. The opposite is true for the reverse process, nuclear fission. This means that fusion generally occurs for lighter elements only, and likewise, that fission normally occurs only for heavier elements. There are extreme astrophysical events that can lead to short periods of fusion with heavier nuclei. This is the process that gives rise to nucleosynthesis, the creation of the heavy elements during events such as supernova.
A nuclear power plant is a thermal power station in which the heat source is a nuclear reactor. As is typical in all conventional thermal power stations the heat is used to generate steam which drives a steam turbine connected to a electric generator which produces electricity. As of23 April2014, the IAEA report there are435 nuclear power reactors in operation operating in31 countries. Nuclear power plants are usually considered to be base load stations, since fuel is a small part of the cost of production.
Nuclear energy is produced through fission (nuclear energy). It is now the safest energy source for the world (in the context of environmental protection) if one handles / generates / uses it in proper ways. Consider the example:
You have a knife. You can kill a person with it. You can use it for cutting vegetables, meat, fishes or butter. So it depends upon how it would be used?
Our future civilization might largely be dependent on nuclear energy.
