Would you consider coronectomy rather than complete removal of a deeply impacted lower wisdom tooth to avoid Inferior Dental nerve damage?

Definitely the answer is yes BUT one should know the guidelines in case selection as it may not be possible to consider Coronectomy in all cases.

Coronectomy did not increase the incidence of damage to the inferior alveolar nerve and would be safer than complete extraction in situations in which the root of the mandibular third molar overlaps or is in close proximity to the mandibular canal.
