With the use of freelance it may become very complicated to ensure the integrity of inspection and clash of interest, to track and maintain the training record and competencies of freelancer. For these reasons, I think using freelance is not approved if the inspection company wants to comply with ISO17020. Use of trainees and contract staff is possible but under supervision of company's permanent experienced staff.

I disagree to use freelancer inspector. We know all company hired certified agency with their certified TPI professionals. Integrity and image of company will at stakes if there is a failure on final acceptance and we should value and respect the importance of ISO worldwide.
