WHICH SOFTWARE IS BEST 3DS MAX OR AUTOCAD ?

AutoCAD is generic design software; it is intended for a wide range of2D and3D users.  There is some rendering capability.  It can accept a wide range of third-party customizations to do everything from circuit board design to architectural work (2D and3D).

3DSMAX is presentation software; it is intended for rendering high-quality stills and animations (if I remember correctly, parts of the movie Jonnhy Nmemonic were done with an early version of MAX).  The program itself is fairly easy to learn but requires a lot of additional learning in areas such as color theory, light theory, and camera direction in order to produce good results.

Typical design processes would use AutoCAD to design the product and produce the construction drawings.  The finished3D model would be loaded into3DSMAX for creating high quality stills and animations for sales literature and presentations.  For doing model reviews/walkthroughs I highly recommend you look into the Navisworks programs instead - they are far easier to use.

3ds max good   for 3D design and photo-realistic  render 

in a shorter way, you can say AutoCAD is a design software while 3DsMAX is a presentationwhile both can do (2D/3D) drawing but every software work at its best the way it programmed for 

for modeling 3d base of poly 3ds max is the best i think. But for making technical drawing with measure unit autocad is the best

AS AN ARCHITECT USUALLY USED  AUTO CAD AND 3DS MAX .BUT THIS CASE BOTH THESE SOFT WARES ARE LINKED EACH TOGETHER EACH SOFTWARE ARE DIFFERENT FELICITIES IN THE FINAL RENDERING AND FINAL PLOTTING TIME

i can speak about my experience, in my company we make design set for opera , the global design is build with autocad , it 's the structure of the design made with wood and steel, it"s précise and easy. my job consist to make sculpted elements on this structure and i use 3d studio max, this soft allow me to validate and make non geometrics shapes
