I do believe that an ideal manager will never show up. Anyhow I can talk about a good manager, who should concentrate on work details, with an ability to communicate effectively and differentiate between work-related issues from others.
Qualification and bookish knowlede is never the1st consideration for being a Manager. He should have peoples skill. The ability to inspire others to outperform for him. Choose the people who can be future leaders. CHERRY PICKING. Identify low lying fruit (identify people who do not perform for a long period without reason) and put them into PCCP. Be just while granting leaves and giving equal oppertunity to everyone to grow.
