How could Apple create, develop, and launch its worldwide successful iPad, yet Microsoft, with its huge resources, has dismally failed launching its first foray into mp3 world: the Zune (I bit you never heard of it)?

and
2)Research and Development (R&D)
These two are critical to understanding the market as well as predicting the market. Apple did that well for a couple of years. Samsung has been doing that very well with its line of Galaxy phones as well. They spend millions of dollars into R&D to make this happen.
