IT Auditor should place controls which ensures the implementation is within the scope and meets the Business objectives
IT Audit role especially for ERP implementation consider a vital factor for success of ERP implementation. mainly you have an Audit plan and this based on your project is a new ERP implementation or enhancement, also you need to Review everything from financial perspective till technicality implementation. for instance ( Review business case of the project and try to figure out is it align with the business objective, review the implementation phases and compare it according to planned, evaluate the performance of external consultant as well as his company for the capability to handle the ERP implementation, identify any risk that could lead to any failure ....so on till the implementation done. also review the contracts and the support after contracts. do not put your organization in vendor lock, vendor lock meaning the depend only on one supplier that could become risky on the company if you do not satisfy them. finally you need to review the security concerns within the ERP and permissions cycle for the whole users and also try to identify any risk within it.
i hope this help
Thanks

Hello at first of all IT audit should read all documents about ERP (system requirement, data base type, backups, network usage from ERP, troubleshooting .... etc ). You can use HP fortify for finding vulnerabilities.
