How important is Psychology when it comes to being an effective teacher?

In the process of effective learning, Psychology is very detrimental if it is well applied.The teaching and learning can be improved through the understanding of the behaviors that are expected as the learning outcome. Through the use of advanced modern psychology, teachers can evaluate and monitor performance and acquisition of all the skills.

Teaching ESL or EFL effectively involves inculcating language skills ( listening , speaking , reading and writing ) at habit levels. This , undoubtedly , involves psychology. The modern approach to the teaching of English is , therefore , designed keeping in view the general principles of psychology such as teaching language patterns as habits , imitation and contexualization etc.
