Had amenities inventory upon check out and charged it to the guest if something is missing.
At hospitality side it is very difficult to do it ,, because the Guest satisfactions is the first and last priority if you will try some thing stupid so ,, so it will be a serious problem for the employee leaving in,, because if a guest will ready to pay to much money just for spending little time there ,so why he will steal some thing they should not have as that cheap mind, because they want there self more valuable and more important that is why they are in same hotel,, & every one in the Hotel depends on Guest , not the Guest Depends on Them,, and if there are some guest who steal something if that effect your budget so you must increase the price on some stuff to win back ,,
A measure needs to be put in place to ensure that an ample notice is given by the guest before checking out. That way, the house keppers or porters should be dedicated to ensure that every items in the room are intact and also that the guests valuables are not left behind before the completion of check out procedure. some guest may be in a hurry but you have to let them know the hotel policy by speaking to them politely.
Based on the knowledge and trainings I have had in the past there used to have the inventory checking or they term it as clearing prior to settling customers bill. And whatever that are used or missing that automatically charged to the customers bill.
