Even I agree with Mr. Vinod Jetley, in generally I would say that you should ask more questions and try to sell less! The selling process is to satisfies the needs of the costumer and to do this we should know what she/he really need/want! That means, sharp your communication skills for this job.

Sales process has many steps right from the start to close a deal and it requires adequate time to complete a cycle.

The time to close a deal or to complete a cycle can can vary among organizations, products and services, and not a single deal matches to the other deal.

However if there are hurdles or unnecessary delays, you can speedup your sales cycle by:

1. Developing a clear value proposition

2. Talking to the right person

3. Focus on the prospect's needs

4. Exhibiting a trust and confidence in your company

5. Deal with objections early

6. Planning each conversation

7. Having a firm & quick next step

8. Being Persistent

Dear Dina,

It depends on the products or services you are selling. FMCG products with a high sales ratio allow you to apply more pressure or be more persistent. In general;

1) make sure you fullfill the requirements of the buyer ( specs, leadtime, etc )

2) submit samples or relevant testimonials

3) ensure top notch communication

4) ask for feedback

5) be friendly but persistent

Best of luck, Onno

Closing successful sales deals requires you to exercise effective communication skills, whether written or verbal both within the organization and most importantly with the customer. If you are precise, proactive and professional it would boost your overall sales and minimize deal closing time.

Take the following into consideration

- The sales process should take it's time.

- Customers are unpredictable, they may need more time to decide: DO NOT PUSH TOO MUCH

- If you see the delay is from you side, learn how to avoid that

- Prepare well, Plan well
