I have been participating in International Poetry Contests for20 years, so far.  The general consensus among English speaking poets is: Prose poetry (non-rhyming) reflects the current informality in the language in general.  Most experienced poets consider prose poetry to be lazy writing.  I write in the Terzanelle  poetry form because its structure is very good for story telling poems.

There are novel trends in poetry these days. This can account for this tendency to use free verse instead of other forms of poems.

Really? A lot? I think, it is not completely true. And if certain poets choose so-called blank verse, this is only because they choose to do so - this is their poetic vision
