A long time ago in a small village lived two girls, one named Pre-sales and one named Sales. Each wanted to be the most popular girl in the village. Soon a rivalry developed between them. They decided to settle the question once and for all with a contest. Each girl would walk through the village. Whichever girl was greeted by the most villagers would be the winner.
Pre-sales went first. She set off down the cobblestone street, passing through the heart of the village. Not one person came out to greet her. By the time she reached the other end of town, she was devastated.
Sales went next. She had taken only a few steps before people began coming out of houses and shops. ” sales , how are you? And urges to smoke together.” And so it went until she passed through the village and reached Pre-sales , who was in tears.
‘ Sales ,” said Pre-sales , drying her eyes. ‘ You win. You are the most popular girl in the village. Everyone likes you. But why? ”
Sales put her arm around Pre-sales’ shoulder. She spoke in consoling voice. ‘ I share whatever you suggest me so. You are the truth. People come to me to know the real truth you share with me. But nobody wants to hear the naked truth.
‘ So what am I supposed to do ?” Said Pre-sales.
‘Here’ Sales said , removing her cloak. ‘ Take this , and wrap yourself in it.” ‘ What is it.” Presales asked.
” Emotion” , sales said. ‘ It helps you to build relation. Wear it and you, like me , will become sales.”
Without pre-sales , sales is time waster.
Presales is a business function that work closely with the Sales providing different types of support activities to ease the sales process but mainly the most common activity is working with the Sales Professional as a trust source of information about the company products & Services, the competitive products and the market. Presales Professional is like a consultant for both the sales and client.
is a process or a set of activities normally carried out before a customer is actually acquired, though sometimes pre-sales also extends into the period the product or service is finally delivered to the customer. Typically Pre-Sales begins when the potential customer has already been identified (using the Inside Sales method) and he is looking at you as a potential vendor for a solution.
Selling is all about showing the customer that you can please them by providing them with the products that they want.
I could be wrong, but I think marketing is pre-sales, because marketing is all the activities that leads to involving a sales person. So marketing is responsible for raising awareness and generating interest, where sales in responsible for nurturing the interest generated and closing the deal. Hope this helps!
I will answer this question with an example in Pharma selling a medical representative visits a doctor
He discussed about his products with the doctor, the doctor asks for some more information related to his products like clinical data, safety and tolerability data.He immediately carries out the data from his bag and gives it to the doctor .The doctor says that he is convinced with the product with the data provided and whenever the suitable patient comes he will surely prescribe his brand. The above example is classic exapmle of pre sales where the doctor is convinced only thing is he is waiting for the right patient. As soon as the right patient comes, the doctor prescribes his brand and the patient takes it from the pharmacy the sale is completed.
Pre Sales is process for sales with out which it cannot get converted into sales..
It can be Marketing / promotion / campaigns etc,. where we cant see the immediate result but will leave certain image in customer mind.
For example if u are planning to buy a New car, there are lot of brands/ models available in market and also with almost similar features & pricing. But we just don't go pay cash & drive down with vehicle, there is process for that..
It involves the moment we walk into the showroom the way we are received the way the product is explained and cortesy to take us for test drive then negotiation etc., this is process where every sales person follow which is called pre sales..
Finally going thru all this how best the sales personnel had convinced you to go for the product is final sale..
It is process followed for converting in sale, by following pre sales process the conversion can be better.
Pre Sales is a process or a set of activities normally carried out before a customer is acquired, through sometimes presales also extends into the period the product or service is delivered to the customer.
"Real estate properties that are sold before construction is completed are referred to as Pre Sales."
*Responsibilities In a typical sales cycle the stages are:
-Contact.
-Lead / Suspect.
-Prospect / Opportunity.
-The task of a pre sales person starts from the initial contact phase and often ends once the customer is acquired i.e. sale is made. In some cases, presales also provide some initial or transitional support post sale.
-The responsibilities differ from organization to organization but in general include:
-Solution Preparation/Management Proposal based on Customers Requirements
-Product demonstrations
-Proof of Concept Creation
-Creation of Marketing Documents
... and any other activity required to generate business
Thank You.
Sales is a customer facing front ending role. People who are directly interacting with customer (or buyer) with the objective of selling a product or service are the Sales people. While Pre sales, as the name indicates, could be either preparatory stage of sales process or it could be behind the scene back end support of the sales process. While pre-sales function also does some amount of customer facing role, but usually their role is limited to presenting organisations capabilities or product capabilities etc. Usually customer negotiation is sales responsibility.
Pre-sales is an initial meeting with a client where Pre-sales person gives the presentation about their product and explain everything about it to the client, and liable to answer of the queries for that particular product.
After presentation the sales work start, like follow up to the client, collection of cheque for the product etc.
Presales are orders for something that hasn't been released yet. You hear about it with anticipated books and video games mostly. Everyone who ordered a Harry Potter book (or the new Call of War game. . .) before its release date is a presale--they couldn't take the book home with them, they just knew it will be delivered on the first date it is available to the public.
I agree with the experts answers. Thank you.
